Really hard to predict, since the world of information and technology is moving so fast... My view is that it will have to adapt, maybe the format and the whole purpose of print newspaper will have to change. Even now the print newspaper is outdated since it has the information which I was able to read online through various channels yesterday. If it was to survive it should have some sort of premium content and maybe change from daily to weekly format to maintain profitability. It is also highly possible that it will be replaced by some personal information hub (like iPad) which will allow publishers to deliver personalized content.
When I recently asked dozen students at a print media management course in Bratislava “How many of you read print newspapers?”, only one or two hands raised. It seems to be clear – or no?
